A WELCOME MESSAGE FROM REGULATING RESOLUTIONS FOUNDER
I’m so glad you’re here, and I’m honored to explore how a Therapy Intensive might support meaningful change in your life.
My name is Dianne Goetsch. I’m a licensed therapist with over a decade of experience working with adults and from a wide range of backgrounds. My integrative work is grounded in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Somatic Experiencing, Critical Memory Integration, and multiple other trauma-informed approaches. I specialize in supporting individuals navigating complex trauma, chronic stress, chronic pain, health conditions, dissociation, and functional neurological symptoms. This work centers the nervous system and honors the intelligence of the body, creating pathways for healing that are both effective and compassionate.
Therapy Intensives offer a powerful and focused format for healing and post-traumatic growth. They can be especially supportive for people who feel stuck in patterns that affect their emotional, physical, and neurological well-being. Many clients seeking intensives are living with negative reactivity, intrusive images and other unrelenting experiences of trauma, long-standing pain, complex health challenges, dissociative responses, and/or functional neurological disorder (FND) and are looking for an approach that goes beyond coping to support real change. By working in a longer, more continuous therapeutic container, we’re able to address underlying patterns while staying attuned to pacing, regulation, and integration.
I invite you to spend some time with this information and see whether a Therapy Intensive feels like a potential fit for you. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have about what an intensive could look like and how it might support your goals. If what you read resonates, you’ll have the option to schedule a free, no-obligation 20-minute consultation call. We can talk together about what’s happening in your world and body and whether an intensive feels like the right next step. My hope is that you find the support and the peace you’re seeking, both within your body and within your life.
Whether it’s emotional, physical, or both - your pain deserves care, not silence.
Frequently Asked Questions

A Therapy Intensive is a focused, accelerated way of doing deep therapeutic work, designed for people who want to invest in themselves more intentionally and make meaningful shifts in a shorter period of time. Rather than meeting for 53 minutes once a week, an intensive invites you to set aside a full day or weekend to go inward, with support.
This approach allows us to work at a depth that weekly sessions don’t always make possible, while still remaining attuned, relational, and nervous-system informed. For many people, Therapy Intensives support post-traumatic growth by creating enough continuity and spaciousness for real integration and completion to occur without the stop-start rhythm of weekly therapy.
Many clients describe a Therapy Intensive as feeling similar to a retreat. You might take time off work, arrange childcare, unplug from daily responsibilities, or even stay in a hotel nearby. For that dedicated period, the focus is entirely on you - your healing, your reflection, regulation, resolution, and reconnection with yourself.
There’s no requirement to commit to ongoing weekly sessions. Instead, a Therapy Intensive offers a contained, intentional container for deep work, followed by integration and post-intensive follow-up.
-
Therapy Intensives are perfect for people that are ready for relief now. If you’re ready to see things change in your life and your relationships but you don’t want to wait for that to happen next year - a Therapy Intensive may be right for you. If you have a specific topic, trauma, or stressor that you want support with, this can be the focus of your Therapy Intensive. The dedicated time will be customized specifically to you and your goals.
-
If you’ve lived through complex or long-standing trauma, or you’re navigating chronic pain, medical conditions, or functional neurological symptoms, you may notice that your body reacts even if your mind knows you’re safe.
Triggers and activation can show up as sudden emotional shifts, physical sensations, pain flares, shutdown, dissociation, a sense of being on edge, or becoming overwhelmed. A Therapy Intensive can offer a focused and supportive way to work and resolve these patterns from their roots.
The extended structure of an intensive allows us to slow down and track what’s happening in your nervous system in real time, rather than repeatedly containing reactions until the next session. Without the stop-and-start rhythm of weekly therapy, we can stay with somatic experience long enough for regulation, completion, and integration to occur. This creates space to work with reactivity and triggers in a way that feels both safe and effective.
Many people experience a Therapy Intensive as a contained, retreat-like environment where daily demands are set aside and the focus is fully on healing. This isn’t just about efficiency, it’s about creating the conditions for meaningful, lasting change in how your body responds, how you experience yourself, and how you move through the world.

Therapy Intensives are often more effective and more efficient than traditional 53-minute therapy sessions. In a standard session, time is naturally spent orienting at the beginning, checking in, settling the nervous system, tracking what’s changed since last week, and then closing out toward the end to ensure regulation and containment. This typically leaves about 30–40 minutes for deeper therapeutic work.
Therapy Intensives are structured differently. Because we are working in a longer, continuous block of time, there is far less need to repeatedly orient and re-orient. A 4-hour Therapy Intensive allows for approximately 3.5 hours of sustained depth work, with adequate pacing, breaks, and integration built in.
For many clients, this is equivalent to roughly a month of weekly therapy, accomplished in a single, intentional day. The work can unfold more organically, patterns become clearer more quickly, and there is enough spaciousness to move through activation and into integration, rather than stopping just as things begin to shift.

This depends on your goals for the Therapy Intensive. Some goals can be reached in a Half Day Intensive (4 hours), but other goals are more complex and may require a 3 Day Intensive. I can help you determine the number of days that would work best for your therapy goals.
I currently offer four Therapy Intensive packages. More information below.

In-person at my office in Detroit or online throughout Michigan. Integrative Therapy Intensive sessions are similar to going on a personal retreat. It’s best to allow time outside of sessions to be unscheduled or filled only with self-care activities like body work (acupuncture, massage, sauna), movement, and creative expression (drawing, painting, cooking). For those traveling to Detroit, I will to share a list of nearby offerings to help you make the most of your time outside of session.

The Intensive is integrative psychotherapy, which means blending various methods, theories, and techniques tailored to each individual’s needs, aiming to address specific issues and effectively alleviate distress and access regulation and the felt-sense of safety. A Therapy Intensive can help you…
HEAL FROM TRAUMATIC MEMORIES
Does it feel like no matter what you try, you still get moments of overwhelm? That thing from your past just won’t get out of your head and body and you need to do something more than regular therapy? You’re ready for change.
FEEL CONNECTED & SAFELY EMBODIED
You deserve to feel safe in your body and in your relationships. If trauma or pain has left you feeling disconnected or overwhelmed, I can help you understand what’s happening, soften the impact of your struggles, and move toward a life that feels steady, connected, and truly your own.
RELEASE DISCOMFORT & PAIN
Maybe it feels like your body is fighting you. You’ve been living at odds with yourself and it’s destroying you. I specialize in helping people like you reconnect with their bodies, calm their nervous systems, and feel safe again.
FEEL EXCITED ABOUT LIFE AGAIN
When you’re carrying the weight of the world, life can feel hard all the time. I want to help you feel lighter so that you can feel moments of joy and be able to be present for the good stuff.
Do you want transformation?
To feel more safe, comfortable, and connected?
Therapy Intensives are a powerful, accelerated form of psychotherapy for people who are ready for real change, not just symptom management. By setting aside extended, uninterrupted time, you step out of the pace of everyday life and into a quiet, immersive space devoted entirely to your healing. This allows you to work gently and deeply with trauma, chronic pain, health and neurological symptoms, and nervous system dysregulation in a way that weekly therapy often can’t provide.
Whether you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, reactive, or disconnected from your body, a Therapy Intensive offers a focused and highly personalized path toward regulation, resolution, and lasting post-traumatic growth - an intentional pause designed for safety, presence, reconnection, and meaningful transformation.

Are integrative Therapy Intensives worth the time and money?
Integrative Intensives including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Critical Memory Integration (CMI), Somatic Experiencing, and the nervous system (integrative polyvagal theory) give you the results you would get from months of therapy in a shorter period of time. If you add up the cost of weekly therapy, an integrative Intensive is actually more cost effective. Instead of months, you may get the same results in a few days.
Are you ready to…
experience a deeper understanding of yourself,
renew connection with your body,
feel regulated and able to return to regulation,
and navigate life with clarify and confidence?
