For individuals: I am a chronic pain, trauma, and personal growth therapist. I help adults overcome feelings of being stuck and disconnected in order to build a life that feels meaningful, balanced, and fulfilling.

For physical wellness: I am a health psychologist and marathon runner specializing in the integration of physical wellness and emotional well-being. I help adults resolve mental and physical barriers through attuned movement, values-based therapy, and integrative techniques so they can cultivate resilience, return to regulation, and live a life aligned with their truest self.

About Dr. Comrie

I am a licensed clinical health psychologist located in Detroit, MI, dedicated to working with individuals to live lives that they experience to be meaningful and fulfilling. When working with an individual, there is a focus to move from a place of reactivity to responsiveness through a process of critical analysis of one's manner of experiencing themselves, others, and the world around them.

I earned my Ph.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy and completed my post-doctoral fellowship at Ascension Genesys Hospital. I am also a PSYPACT certified psychologist, enabling me to provide telepsychology services across PSYPACT states.

In addition to clinical practice, I serve as the MI Board of Psychology's Representative to the Michigan Health Professional Recovery Committee and formerly as the Chairperson for the Michigan Psychological Association (MPA) Pain Psychology Task Force.

Outside of work, I emphasize the importance of physical activity in mental health treatment. I incorporate running, self exploration, and spending time with loved ones into my own wellness routine, and I encourage clients to explore similar activities. With compassion and evidence-based practices, I empower clients to overcome challenges and lead fulfilling lives.

An ideal therapy client for me is someone who demonstrates a willingness to engage in introspection, embrace discomfort as a catalyst for growth, exhibit an eagerness to change, and remain open to new experiences. Together, our goal is to embark on a journey toward a life that is meaningful and fulfilling, guided by self-awareness, resilience, and a commitment to personal development.

“Oftentimes when working with clients, individuals find themselves feeling disconnected from who they are as a person. I work to understand an individual’s psychic world, collaboratively understand the manner in which they move through the external world, and how they relate to themself. It is common for individuals to contort their lives to avoid discomfort, but this can lead to people living their lives for other people. When working with clients, the ultimate goal is to assist them in living lives in which they experience as meaningful and fulfilling. This is done through integrative psychotherapy.”
